What to See & Do in Dumaguete City?

Nothing can beat an energizing and breathtaking sunrise. In Dumaguete City, the Rizal Boulevard can offer you the best sunrise. Both locals and tourists love to take a stroll at the Rizal Boulevard because of the fresh sea breeze and the cool shades of the big acacia trees. After walking down, the boulevard, the Quezon Park, or simple the city plaza is a great place to relax even more. Right in front of the city plaza is the beautiful Dumaguete Cathedral and the Campanario de Dumaguete. The cathedral is made of coral bricks and the original foundation can date back to the 1750s.

After walking around the city, it’s time to grab a snack! The Painitan (which means “to warm up”) in the Dumaguete Market Place is the perfect place to have a local bite. The budbud or sticky rice with native chocolate is a must try. However, if you feel like treating yourself all the way, try the silvanas of Sans Rival. The buttery and chocolaty flavor of the Silvana is what made it the delicacy of Dumaguete.
